Indiana Senator Mike Braun is one of 5 lawmakers who are introducing the Promising Pathway Act.
The bill, which will be introduced to congress, is supposed to help Americans with ALS and other life-threatening diseases get early access to promising treatments.
“Americans with life-threatening and terminal diseases like ALS don’t have time to waste on a bureaucratic journey through red tape, only to be denied access,” says Senator Braun. “I’m proud that the Promising Pathway Act is now a bipartisan solution to help these Americans get access to life-saving treatments.”
Treatments eligible for provisional approval under the act must have substantial evidence of safety and positive outcomes.
Braun says the bill has bipartisan support.

Whiled I generally like Mike Braun, certainly he is better than Toad Young, I have a question:
Where exactly in the Article I, Section 8, 18 enumerated powers of Congress found in the US Constitution is there authority to spend MY MONEY on this idea from the US Treasury?
I don’t think this is a financial bill, I think it is removing the regulatory barriers to buying the drugs. Trump did something similar with his “Right to Try” initiative.
I would rather see my tax money going to help people. Then the DOJ wasting it on yet another Trump hunt!
I would like to know more about the bill before I signed anything. There is not a complete disclosure of what the bill contains only what in part it is for.
Hey Mike can you get the fda to get the foot out of their gluteus Maximus and approve the dec OM G7 sensors already. They work with insulin pumps to STOP giving an overdose to folks overnight while sleeping. It’s a no brainer even. Slow does not begin to describe reviewing documents and approving known research. Are they all on the take for, (under table money) up there in Washington? Are there so few honest people left in the world?
