Two people accused of a robbery, say that they had permission to be there.
It happened on June 7, when Elkhart police were called to a home on reports of the house being tampered with. The for sale house is in the 26000 block of C.R. 4 in Elkhart.
The homeowner’s realtor said that the blinds had been drawn, there was clothing inside that should not have been there, and that the “for sale” sign and lockbox had also been removed.
40-year-old Carrie Bets and 29-year-old Immanuel Bostic were found leaving a bedroom in the house.
The Goshen News reports that Bostic told police that they had just bought the house and had been staying in the home since May 31.
They said that a man named Mike had given them a tour and allowed them to stay at the house. The realtor says that no one by the name of Mike has been involved with the sale.
Meth and paraphernalia were found in the home. Bets and Bostic admitted that it was theirs.
Bets and Bostic were arrested on charges of burglary, residential entry, theft, and possession of meth and paraphernalia.
A pretrial conference is scheduled for July 13.
