One person shot inside Glenbrook Square Mall in Fort Wayne

Several law enforcement agencies converged on a Fort Wayne mall after the report of a shooting.

The shooting happened on Saturday, July 8, at Glenbrook Square Mall,.

The initial reports were received around 3:30 p.m., regarding an armed individual inside the mall.

Fort Wayne police confirmed that one person was shot but was in currently in stable condition. Initially, it was stated that the suspect was in custody; however, it has now been clarified that the suspect has been identified but is not yet in custody.

The incident took place initially in front of the H&M store and later moved towards the back entrance of H&M. Medical personnel attended to the victim near the former Sears building.

In response, the mall was evacuated and remained closed on Saturday, but mall officials stated that there was no ongoing threat.

The mall was expected to resume normal business hours on Sunday
