Man being charged, found allegedly drunk and sleeping in someone’s garage

Elkhart Police // Alyssa Foster

A man was found drunk and sleeping in someone’s garage.

And now, he’s being charged. Police were called to a home on Greenleaf Blvd. in Elkhart, on reports of a burglary.

The homeowner told officers that her garage door was locked when she got home, at 12:20 a.m., even though she did not lock it.

That’s when she found Daniel Brandley, 44, from San Diego, California asleep in her garage. Bradley also allegedly drank hard seltzers she’d had in the garage fridge.

While escorting him off of the premises, police found meth on Bradley.

He has multiple trials set for the coming months, including a pretrial conference for Aug. 3, an omnibus on Aug. 30, a trial status conference for Feb. 8, and a jury trial for March 4. He is charged with burglary, possession of meth, and possession of a firearm as a violent felon from the July 1 incident.
