It’s official. The auditor, assessor, and clerk of St. Joseph County are getting raises. Each position now earns $100,000.
St. Joe County Council members narrowly approved the hikes of at least $30,000 during their meeting on Tuesday, July 11.
Members also approved a resolution that resets the number of employees and establishes salaries at the county health department. Part of that measure means Deputy Health Officer Dr. Mark Fox will depart when the new health officer begins later this month.

This means the St. Joseph County property taxes will be going up next time. Are these jobs worth paying them 100 K a year ?
With the corruption that I’ve witnessed first hand in the county city building this news doesn’t surprise me. Hey as long as they keep running scams raising taxes as they are this shouldn’t be an issue to fund these wage increases. How are are all those appeals going by the way? My neighbors and I haven’t heard back from you yet but looks like you found ways to spend that extra blood money.
