A Community Action Group meeting will be held for residents to share ideas on the South Bend Police Department.
It’s happening at Pinhook Park on July 27 at 6 p.m.
Residents are invited to share ideas for how they want to see the police department build and strengthen relationships in the community.
They’re looking to build positive relationships and partnerships between police and the community in order to address crime and public safety issues jointly.
Feedback from residents will help the department better understand concerns in order to tailor initiatives to those needs.

Any action taken by the SBPD that was effective would be unpopular with the community, and any idea that is popular will be ineffective. Until the community is ready to get tough on crime, there’s not much the police can do.
100% on target.
The South Bend city police often arrest the same people over and over. Until the St. Joseph County prosecutor and court judges get tough on punishing criminals, nothing changes.
