Sturgis man hurt after crashing into LaGrange County Sheriff’s vehicle on State Road 120

A man was seriously injured after his pickup truck struck a LaGrange County Sheriff’s vehicle.

The collision happened around 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 16, on State Road 120 and 100 East.

The sheriff’s deputy was traveling eastbound with emergency lights and sirens activated when the 33-year-old Sturgis man driving the pickup truck, which was traveling northbound, failed to yield, according to the investigation.

The driver of the pickup had to be extracted from the vehicle and was airlifted to an Indianapolis hospital.

The sheriff’s deputy and his K-9 partner were not hurt.
