Elkhart County 4H Fair celebrates 150th anniversary in style

The Elkhart County 4H Fair is celebrating its 150th Anniversary.

This means that there’s lots of new and exciting events to discover at the biggest county fair in Indiana.

Fair President, Fred Jessup, says there’s some exciting activities to celebrate this achievement, “…daily parades featuring antique tractors and farm equipment, past presidents… it’s gonna highlight the fair highlight the 150 years. “

Shelly Steury, General Manager of the Fair Grounds, is looking forward to one specific events, “it’s called the cast iron skillet toss competition.”

What exactly is a skillet toss? Steury explains, “you take a cast iron skillet and you throw it underhanded and whoever throws it the furthest wins.”
