A man charged with murder is preparing for his second jury trial.

In his trial in November of 2021, Jordon Norton of Elkhart was found guilty of battery by means of a deadly weapon and criminal recklessness.

However, the jury could not make a decision on the murder charge.

He is accused in the August 2020 murder of Davis Artley at Hardy’s Bar in Elkhart, and he has two self-defense notices filed in the case.

He is attempting to file an appeal for the two felonies he was found guilty of, and the second trial date is set for August 7.
