A man from LaPorte County facing charges of stalking and threatening Taylor Swift has been ordered him to undergo mental health treatment.
Evidence of Mitchell Taebel’s alleged obsession with Swift started in late March and includes him posting a 10-hour marriage proposal video on YouTube.
On his YouTube page, there were several videos suggesting that he and Swift should be married. In one incident on May, Taebel sent a voice message to Swift through her official Instagram account, where he expressed a willingness to wear a bomb if it meant being with his “soulmate.” He also sent a message to Swift’s father.
Due to his mental condition, the South Bend Tribune reports that Taebel, has been placed under the care of the Indiana Division of Mental Health and Addiction.
The purpose is to improve his condition until he is deemed competent enough to participate in his own defense.
