Ford recalling 870K F-150 pickups

Ford is recalling 870 thousand F-150 pickups because their electric parking brakes can turn on unexpectedly.

The recall is for certain pickups from the 2021, 2022 and 2023 model years with single exhaust systems.

Drivers could see a parking brake warning light and warning message on the dashboard. No crashes or injuries have been reported to Ford related to this recall. Government safety regulators announced on Friday that a rear wiring bundle that could come into contact with the rear axle housing could chafe the wiring and cause a short circuit that can turn on the parking brake, increasing the risk of a crash.

Owners will be notified by letter starting September 11.

Can Ford make a vehicle that is completed properly?
They have been recalling nearly everything they make.

No, because Ford hires based on diversity and not merit.
