For the first time this year, the South Bend-Mishawaka area was ranked in the top 10 on the Summer 2023 Emerging Housing Markets Index.
Each market is ranked on a scale of 0 to 100, with indicators in two categories: real estate market and economic health and quality of life.
Indicators include real estate demand, real estate supply, median listing price trend, unemployment numbers, area wages, small businesses, amenities and more.
The analysis highlighted the following key trends in the Top 10 markets:
– Emerging markets offer lower cost of living
– Sustained demand drives high price growth and quick market pace
– Mid-sized markets with strong employment and convenient commutes
– Affordability attracts out-of-market shoppers
