Power restoration underway for thousands as more comfortable weather settles in

High wind gusts of 70+ mph and heavy rain led to power outages and flash flooding from the late-night and overnight storms that pummeled Michiana.

Several thousand Indiana Michigan Power and NIPSCO Electric customers are starting the weekend without power. The outages stretch beyond the MNC listening area.

While the waters recede and utility crews work to get power restored, weather conditions will improve.

The humidity will drop this weekend. After the rain clears on Saturday morning, the afternoon, evening, and Sunday will be more pleasant. More comfortable weather continues through the new week.
