The wrongful death lawsuit against Elkhart Community Schools has been settled.

The lawsuit was brought by the family of 12-year-old Rio Allred who committed suicide after claims of bullying.

According to WNDU, the family alleged that there was documented proof of verbal and physical bullying against the victim, yet the school did nothing about it.

The family’s attorney stated that the family was suing for $4 million and was looking for change in how Elkhart schools handle bullying.

The lawsuit was settled under confidential terms.
