A man accused of a domestic situation had a status conference on Thursday, Aug. 3

Christian Gomez Benitez of Elkhart, faces a slew of charges, including burglary with a deadly weapon and battery.

Officials say that Gomez Benitez violated his restraining order against his former partner in March.

Police say that they recieved a call that Gomez Benitez was inside the home of his former partner with a gun.

The victim said that he entered the home without permission and threatened her. Police found him lying on a bed, the gun in the bathroom.

He’s set for trial this fall.
