Suspect in double-homicide investigation dies after officer-involved shooting

The suspect in a double homicide investigation in St. Joseph County in Michigan has died after an officer-involved shooting.
One of the victims, a 39-year-old woman, was found shot in area of Centerville Road near South Street in Sturgis on Saturday, Aug. 5.
Police quickly centered in on a suspect and checked a home in the 31000 block of U.S. 12, but found a 61-year-old man who was also shot to death.
The manhunt continued for the suspect, 30-year-old David Keith Algarin Jr.
Late Sunday morning, Sturgis officers spotted the suspect in a vehicle, and tried to stop him, but a pursuit began.
The chase ended, as did the suspect’s life, with the officer-involved shooting in Branch County.
