The search for a suspect continues after a woman was shot and killed in Benton Township.

Police were called around 12:45 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 6, to Berrien Homes Apartments in the 1700 block of Crystal Court on the report of a gunshot victim.

On scene, they found a 37-year-old Benton Harbor woman lying in the hallway of the second floor, suffering from several gunshot wounds to her chest. The woman was taken to Corewell Health Lakeland where she died.
