“Pocket Park” coming to Mishawaka

(Tom Franklin/95.3 MNC)

The City of Mishawaka is getting a “pocket park” soon.

The Mishawaka Pocket Park will be set up on a small space next to the Mishawaka City Hall on Lincoln Way West. When it’s finished the pocket park will have a selfie spot with “The Mish” sign, artwork of the St. Joseph River, and a planted green wall face.

The park, moving forward in part due to the efforts of Mayor Dave Wood and his Youth Advisory Council, was made possible through the Youth Council’s fundraising efforts, which brought in over $100,000 in two months. There were also state matching funds.

It’s hoped the park will be finished by Thanksgiving.

“a selfie spot with “The Mish” sign, artwork of the St. Joseph River, and a planted green wall face”

All for the low low price of over $100k. What a bargain…
