Man arrested on drugs and weapon charges in Dowagiac

Dowagiac Police arrested a man after finding drugs and a weapon.

It happened on Wednesday morning, when police saw a vehicle pull into the parking lot of the Baymont Inn in Dowagiac.

The vehicle had been reported stolen in Berrien County. Officers saw a 33-year-old man leave the vehicle. Officers told him to stop, but the suspect allegedly ran. Police were able to catch him.

They say they found a handgun, 91 grams of meth, as well as evidence that he was selling meth.

The suspect was arrested on a slew of charges, including possession of a stolen motor vehicle and a concealed weapon.
