Brandywine explicit book ban debate may soon reach compromise

A compromise may be reached in the explicit book ban debate in the Brandywine school district.
The school board revised the proposed check-out policy during their meeting, this week, making it so all students from 7th to 12th grades will need parental permission to check out one of the restricted books, unless they are 18.
There are nearly 40 restricted books, in all.
ABC 57 News reports that there’s still no clear definition from the board on what constitutes ‘nudity’ or ‘sexually explicit’ in teaching materials. Board members say they’ll send the proposed policy to their attorney for approval.
