Elkhart man, 36, charged with wife’s murder at home on Cone Street

An Elkhart man has now been charged with murdering his wife after she was found dead at a home this past weekend.

Charging documents state 36-year-old Matthew Thompson was arrested and charged in connection with the death of 27-year-old Ciarra Thompson.

She was found dead inside a home in the 1400 block of Cone Street last Saturday evening. Matthew allegedly called the police and claimed he found Ciarra on the kitchen floor unresponsive.

The probable cause affidavit further states that Ciarra appeared as though she had been battered and stabbed.

Evidence suggested that someone had made an effort to clean up the blood.

Matthew was arrested on Sunday and his initial hearing was set for Thursday morning, Aug. 24.

It would have been a lot easier for him to move out before it got to this point. A stupid decision he made killing her.

I agree. Matt is a bitch for that and I hope justice is served for that poor beautiful soul.
