The League of Women Voters of Elkhart County announced the schedule of candidate forums for the 2023 Municipal elections in Elkhart County. Three forums are planned in September, organized geographically.
The schedule of forums are:
● September 14 – Elkhart and Bristol: The forum will be held at Elkhart Public Library’s downtown branch on 2nd Street beginning at 6 p.m. This forum will focus on contested races in Elkhart and Bristol, with questions developed by the LWVEC board and from the audience attending the event. Candidates in uncontested races are invited to attend as well and will be given the opportunity to address the audience, if time permits..
● September 21 – Goshen and Millersburg: Partnering with the Goshen News, this forum will be held at the Goshen Theater on Main Street in downtown Goshen. The forum begins at 6 p.m. Candidates in contested races will be given priority to address the audience, with questions developed by the LWVEC and the editorial board of the Goshen News. Audience questions will also be collected at the event. Candidates in uncontested races are invited to attend as well and will be given the opportunity to address the audience, time permitting.
● September 28 – Nappanee and Wakarusa: This forum will take place at the Wakarusa Public Library at 6 p.m. Contested candidates will be asked questions developed by the LWVEC and the public attending the forum may also submit questions at the forum. Uncontested candidates are also welcome to come and address the audience, time permitting.
“The League of Women Voters of Elkhart County is honored to continue the tradition of sponsoring non-partisan candidate forums,” said LWVEC co-president Rose Goyette. “This is an opportunity for residents in municipalities in Elkhart County to learn more about who is seeking office and the vision they have for our communities.”
The league, founded after the passage of the 19th Amendment giving women the right to vote, offers various voter education services, such as voter registration, and hosts a candidate forum before every election. The Elkhart County League is the longest operating league in Indiana.

MISANDRY! Where is the “League of Men Voters”?
In all seriousness, does anyone believe for one second that this organization is truly non-partisan? They claim to be, but looking at the pictures posted on their page it looks like a leftist laundry list of causes. They are complaining about gerrymandering in red Indiana, but I bet it’s not even a topic they discuss in blue states…
