The Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County say they have no more room.

Many animal shelters across Michiana are in the same situation, dealing with more surrenders than adoptions. Overcrowding has reached critical mass at the Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County, who told WNDU that there are more than 200 cats and 66 dogs looking for a home, over and above the number of animals currently in foster care and home trials.

Being a no-kill shelter, they’ve instead had to stop accepting abandoned and surrendered pets until there is space for them.
