Update from South Bend Police on Eddy Street disturbances

Eddy Street Commons (Spencer Marsh/95.3 MNC)

The South Bend Police Department continues to investigate a series of disturbances that occurred last weekend at Eddy Street Commons.

Along with processing evidence and witness statements, South Bend Police are working closely with Kite Realty Group and Buckingham to ensure they provide resources to Eddy Street Commons, whether through off-duty officers or on-duty patrol officers, that match the property’s needs on a day-by-day, case-by-case basis.

They say they’ll continue to adjust patrols to deter future disturbances that occur throughout the city.

They also say if business owners or visitors observe a situation that has the potential of escalating into violence, to call 911. Additionally, anonymous tips regarding the disturbances this past weekend can be submitted through Michiana Crime Stoppers by calling 574-288-STOP or visiting www.p3tips.com/203.
