The injuries could have been a whole lot worse for a pedestrian who was struck by a van on State Road 120.
The collision happened around 6:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Sep. 19, when sheriff’s investigators say the van, driven by a 34-year-old woman from Elkhart, struck a 47-year-old Las Vegas woman with her passenger side mirror when the woman was walking in the lane of travel between the white line and the center line, east of State Road 15.
Police say the woman was wearing dark colored clothing and made no attempt to make herself more visible to traffic.
She was taken to Elkhart General Hospital with injuries to her arm.
