Biden headed to Michigan to stand with UAW strikers

Days after GOP front-runner and former President Donald Trump announced a trip to Michigan to court the UAW vote, a similar trip has been announced by the incumbent president.

President Biden announced on Friday that he would visit Michigan to “stand in solidarity” with union workers of the UAW who are striking against the state’s Big Three automakers.

Biden said he will be in the state on Tuesday.

Democrats were quick to praise the president’s planned visit to the picket line. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg has rejected the idea that Biden is making the visit to draw a contrast with Trump. He told CNN’s “State of the Union” on Sunday that President Biden is doing “what he has always done, which is to stand with American workers.”

While everyone agrees that $29-million per year for GM’s CEO is greedy, the average UAW worker makes more to run a screw gun than I make in the skilled trade I’ve been in for over three decades. We all feel the pain from inflation and higher interest rates, but after their raises, none of us will be able to afford a $100K pickup truck.

How many people will be around Biden to make sure he can’t speak with anyone? Every time he makes an off the cuff comment he says dumb things.

It’s just Bidenomics. The UAW proposal will hike the price of American cars by 40-50%, which is right in line with the rest of Biden’s policies.

I wonder if anyone at the UAW is smart enough to think ahead two years. What will they do when the manufacturers cannot stay afloat?
