Cultivate Food Rescue has hit a major food rescue milestone.

They say that they have rescued over 5 million pounds of food and redistributed it to food-insecure people in Elkhart, Marshall, and St Joseph County since 2016.

In August, Cultivate Food Rescue broke ground on a cold storage facility near their current location on Prairie Avenue.

It will allow the organization to rescue 19 million pounds of food annually.
