After over a year of input from the stakeholders across the region, a draft of Michiana on the Move: 2050 Transportation Plan was available for review and comments over the past 30 days.
A variety of comments were received online during the public comment period, which ended on Oct. 9. Comments were also received in person during the Sep. 21 Open House.
The feedback revolved around transit, innovation, and support for active transportation.
The Michiana on the Move: 2050 Transportation Plan was presented to TTAC last week and will be presented to Policy Board for endorsement and approval on Oct. 11.
Once approved, the document sets the framework for federal transportation funding and investment and ultimately makes the region eligible for funding to improve and maintain roadways and active transportation facilities, as well as operate public transportation.

From the Department of Energy:
“Active transportation is human-powered mobility, such as biking, walking, or rolling.”
Do these dingbats realize we live in Northern Indiana? We have inclement weather here 6+ months out of the year, and most people don’t live anywhere near where they work.
In 2050 the masses will be forced to live in cities. The mode of transportation will be walking, electric scooters, bicycles, and small electric buses. The apartment size will be small like an R.V.
