Berrien County Sheriff’s deputies warn of fraudulent calls

In Berrien County, some individuals are getting fraudulent calls from someone claiming to be a Sheriff’s deputy.
The scam caller alleges the recipient has a legal issue and demand payment through a payment app.
The caller disguises their number as the Sheriff’s Office, but the real office never requests payments over the phone. If you get such a call, they say to hang up and do not give them money or personal information​
