Student hit by vehicle while walking to bus stop in Mishawaka

A 12-year-old student was hit by a vehicle while walking to a bus stop.
It happened around 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 17, at the intersection of Indiana Avenue and Lincolnway East in Mishawaka.
ABC 57 News reports the boy was walking to a Transpo stop in the area when he walked behind a vehicle to cross the street. As he did so, he was hit by a dark-colored vehicle that was turning north onto Indiana.
The victim was taken to the hospital a couple of hours later with a fractured foot.
Mishawaka Police say the driver left the scene.
