The Indiana State Police is currently investigating a fatal vehicle crash that occurred on the Indiana Toll Road in LaGrange County.
It was around 10 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 22, when a Nissan passenger vehicle was traveling in the westbound lanes of the Toll Road near the 108-mile marker at a very slow rate of speed.
A semi-tractor/trailer, also traveling westbound, came up behind the vehicle and crashed into the rear end. The impact caused the Nissan to travel across the center grass median.
The vehicle caught fire after coming to rest on the left shoulder of the eastbound lanes.
Drivers who witnessed the crash stopped to help prior to law enforcement and fire-rescue personnel arriving, however their efforts to approach the Nissan were hampered by the intense flames.
The driver of the Nissan, Kyle Stanton, 47, of Columbus, Ohio, was not able to escape the burning vehicle, and died inside the car.
The semi-driver is identified as Jafar Akhmedov, 44, of Warrington, Pennsylvania. Akhmedov was cooperating with investigators.
He was transported to the Lagrange Hospital for chemical testing in accordance with Indiana law as a requirement for all drivers involved in a crash where serious bodily injury or death has occurred.

What is the minimum speed limit on the interstate in Indiana?
The minimum speed limit on Indiana highways is 50 miles per hour.
I am a bit troubled . Why was the killed man driving slow ? 50 MPH or slower?
Medical or car emergency?
Were his warning flashers on?
Why did the truck not slow down, brake, or move to avoid the collision? fatigue, distraction?
