With the help of Feeding America West Michigan, Benton Harbor may soon see a Food Club in the community.

Feeding America West Michigan’s president, Ken Estelle, said there is a high level of food insecurity in Benton Harbor.

WSJM reports that Food Clubs are like grocery stores where members pay a fee to get points to buy whatever they want.

Estelle says the Food Club will likely be pantry-based and that healthier foods will cost fewer points, but that members can choose whatever they like.

There is not yet a launch date as the organization is still looking for local partners.
