Police chase into City of St. Joseph ends with deadly crash

The Michigan State Police are probing a chase that began in Benton Township, and ended with a deadly crash in the City of Saint Joseph.

Benton Township Police noticed the speeding suspect on M-139 near Napier Avenue at around 2 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 12.

Despite trying to stop the vehicle, they lost sight of it on I-94 west past M-139.

A Berrien County Deputy later located the suspect on Lakeshore Road in Saint Joseph Township, leading to a pursuit north on Lakeshore Drive into Saint Joseph.

Several minutes later, the suspect crashed on Lakeshore near Hilltop Road, resulting in their death after being thrown from the vehicle.
