McKinley Highway in Osceola to see traffic switches starting Nov. 14

(Jon Zimney/95.3 MNC)
All east/westbound traffic will switch to the north side of McKinley Highway between Beech Road and Ash Road in Osceola to begin work on underground storm sewer and grade preparations for the new pavement section.
This traffic switch is planned for Tuesday, Nov. 14.
With the traffic switch a few roads along the south side of McKinley will be closed as there will be no access from the north.
These roads are: Apple Road, Krause Road and Brink Avenue. There is no prescribed detour route per the project plans. Brink Avenue can be accessed from Ash Road via Elsie Avenue.
Krause Road along with roads within the Jefferson Knolls subdivision can be accessed either from Ash Road by way of Beatrice Street. All three roads, Apple, Krause and Brink can also be reached utilizing Jefferson Boulevard from the south.
This configuration is expected to remain in place through the winter and spring months until the south portion of McKinley Highway has been constructed. At that point, traffic will then be shifted to the newly constructed southern portion late Spring or early Summer of 2024 while the remaining portion of McKinley is completed.
