Two suspects have been charged in connection with a shooting that killed a 12-year-old and wounded a 14-year-old in South Bend.
It was back on Friday, Oct. 27, when South Bend Police were called to the area of Indiana and Prairie Avenues on the report of a shooting.
Upon arrival, officers located 12-year-old Josiah Small, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A 14-year-old was also wounded and was taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Through an investigation and the processing of evidence by the South Bend Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit, two suspects were identified.
On Nov. 6, in collaboration with the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office, Nagomba White, Jr., 21, and Amarion Cutler, 18, were charged for their roles in Small’s murder.
Their warrants were sealed to allow law enforcement to apprehend them.

White has been charged with:
I: Murder
II: Conspiracy to Commit Murder
III: Attempted Murder
IV: Attempted Battery by Means of a Deadly Weapon

Cutler has been charged with:
I: Aiding, Inducing or Causing Murder
II: Conspiracy to Commit Murder
III: Attempted Murder
IV: Attempted Murder
V: Attempted Battery by Means of a Deadly Weapon
VI: Battery by Means of a Deadly Weapon
On Thursday, Nov. 9, White was taken into custody in Indianapolis, with assistance by the US Marshals Great Lakes Regional Task Force, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police and the South Bend Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit. He is currently being held at the St. Joseph County Jail.
Cutler remains wanted on his warrant. He should be considered armed and dangerous. If you see him, do not approach him – call 9-1-1 immediately.
