Suspect arrested in connection with shooting on Falcon Street in South Bend

A suspect has been arrested and charged in connection with a shooting that wounded a man in South Bend.

On Nov. 5, South Bend Police were dispatched to the 200 block of N. Falcon Street on the report of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers located a male victim with several apparent gunshot wounds. He was transported to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Through an investigation, it was determined the shooting occurred in the 2400 block of Kenwood Avenue.

Through the processing of evidence, investigators identified 31-year-old Jeffrey Sheppard as a suspect.

On Thursday, Nov. 16, in collaboration with the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office, Sheppard was charged with Battery by Means of a Deadly Weapon, a Level 5 Felony. Sheppard also had a felony warrant connected to an unrelated case.

Sheppard is currently being held at the St. Joseph County Jail.
