NIPSCO warning about fraudulent calls from fake employees

(Photo supplied/NIPSCO)

NIPSCO is cautioning consumers regarding an uptick in fraudulent calls from individuals posing as company employees.

The utility emphasizes that they never make calls demanding immediate payment through prepaid cards. They also want to remind customers that their official website is NIPSCO.com and they urge anybody directed to an imposter site to exercise caution.

They also say you can verify the legitimacy of any communication, by logging into your accounts at myaccount.NIPSCO.com, or contacting NIPSCO’s customer support at 1-800-464-7726. But they say to make your own independent call and not call any phone numbers provided by potential scammers.
