Elkhart man arrested after chase into Cass County

An Elkhart man has been arrested after chase from Berrien County into Cass County.
The pursuit happened around 4 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 10.
Officers with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, Berrien County Sheriff’s Department and Niles Police took part in stopping the 41-year-old man as he entered Cass County.
The pursuit continued into Cassopolis. Police were able to successfully deploy stop sticks, but the vehicle continued to flee into Vandalia, where the suspect vehicle crashed behind a home on Lakeview Drive.
The Elkhart man was taken into custody by Cass County Sheriff’s Deputies, then turned over to the Berrien County officers. Investigators say alcohol and drugs appear to be factors.
