Benton Harbor man sentenced to jail, break in last year

A Benton Harbor man who broken into a building and stole from a family in September 2022 has been sentenced.

23-year-old Bruce Benson Jr. was sentenced to 180 days in jail, two years probation, and has to pay over $19,000 in restitution.

Leader Publications reports that Bruce pleaded guilty to breaking and entering a building with intent to commit larceny.

One of the victims says the break in was devastating. He says they had lost decades worth of tools they had collected.
