An Elkhart man was sentenced for a burglary and domestic battery earlier this year.

Court documents say 23-year-old Cristian Gomez Benitez violated a restraining order against his former partner and mother of his children on March 24.

Police received a call that Gomez Benitez was inside a home on Whitfield Court, with a gun and in violation of a restraining order.

The Goshen News reports he was charged in January with invasion of privacy and violation of a restraining order.

In March, he allegedly entered the home again. The victim called the police.

They say they found Gomez Benítez in the bedroom. He was sentenced on charges of robbery, domestic battery, a misdemeanor, and invasion of privacy.
