South Bend fire crews battle blaze at home on Oak Street

There’s no word on the cause of a fire at a home in the 900 block of Oak Street in South Bend.

Fire crews were called around 9:50 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 15, and, upon arrivial, were met with heavy fire and smoke throughout the entire two-story structure.

The fire was fought defensively due to known damage from previous fires in the past. An extra handline was used to help with exposure to surrounding homes.

One of the trucks put up their aerial to help with applying water to fire in the attic.

There was no report of any injuries.
