Former Elkhart County corrections officer incarcerated for alleged sexual relations with inmate

A former male corrections officer has been incarcerated at the Elkhart County Jail for allegedly engaging in sexual activity with an inmate.
Corrections staff notified their superior on January 5 that a female inmate had reported engaging in sexual activity with an unidentified male corrections officer on January 3 of last year.
Sheriff’s Office Detectives were called to the jail and immediately began an investigation. 26-year-old Corrections Officer Malachi Yoder was identified as the alleged employee in the indecent, and he was immediately terminated from employment.
Yoder was arrested and incarcerated at the Elkhart County Jail for the charge of Sexual Misconduct with a Service Provider.
