One person dead after LaGrange County house fire

A person is dead after a house fire in LaGrange County.
Crews were called around 7 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 15, to the 7900 block of North-700-West, which is near Shipshewana and the Indiana Michigan state line.
One man was rescued from the home, but a second man, Darin Smith, 54, did not make it out and died due to smoke inhalation.
Investigators believe the fire was accidental.
