(Tommie Lee)

Governor Whitmer was in Benton Harbor on Thursday to kick off a tour after her State of the State address.

She toured the Emma Jean Hull Flats and talked about the housing proposals that she addressed in her speech. She also presented a check from the Michigan State Housing Development Authority for 300 thousand dollars to support local efforts to build more homes.

During the State of the State, Whitmer proposed an historic $1.4 billion investment to build or rehabilitate nearly 10,000 homes in the state.
