Organizers hoping to revive the Niles-Buchanan NAACP

There is an effort to revive the NAACP chapter in Niles and Buchanan. WSBT reports that it began in 1942 but was dissolved in 2018, but members of the community are now working to re-establish the chapter.

An event was held recently with organizers looking for enough members to relaunch the charter.

Those interested in getting involved in the effort can reach out to local organizers or visit the national NAACP website.
