A 17-year-old boy was arrested Tuesday in Indianapolis after he and two men brought a 13-year-old girl from Florida back to Indiana.
Indiana State police say the girl had met the boy online and was reported as a runaway by her family on Christmas.
State Police had been working with law enforcement in Florida to find the girl. After getting a search warrant for a home in Strathmore Court, officers found the girl unharmed and the 17-year-old boy. The house was in a neighborhood northeast of East 38th Street and North Mithoeffer Road on the north east side.
The girl was moved to the Marion County Juvenile Detention Center while she waits on her family to come get her, say state police.
No formal charges against the teenage boy have been reported. The Marion County Prosecutor’s office and authorities in Florida were still working with State Police on the case.
