New gun laws are taking effect February 13th in Michigan.

One of them states that guns will have to be unloaded and locked with a trigger-locking mechanism or stored in a locked storage container wherever a child may be present. Gun owners can get a lock for free at any state police post.

Other new laws include red flag laws and expanded background checks. At least four children died last year in Michigan due to unsecured guns, according to the State Police.

These laws are going into effect as a court ruling found a Michigan parent criminally responsible for the deaths of four students at the hands of her son at his school in 2021.

“safety laws”

4 children died in Michigan in one year, and so the knee was jerked with no thought to the consequences. How many children will now die because their parents will not have ready access to the weapons needed to protect them?

“Excuse me Mr Home Invader, sir, can you wait right here while I go retrieve my legally locked and unloaded firearm?”

whitmer has no idea about gun safety, she like Michigan democrats have no clue what safety is. Criminals love her lax prosecutors unless you are a law abiding citizen. They then think put citizens in jail not criminals
