A pedestrian was hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle near downtown South Bend.

The collision happened around 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 7, on Charles Martin Senior Drive between LaSalle Avenue and Lincoln Way West.

South Bend Police say the driver has been cooperating with the investigation.

There was no immediate word about the circumstances that led to the person being hit or the extent of their injuries.

The road was closed for several hours for the investigation.
