There’s an effort to make sure better quality food is sold in Michigan’s gas stations.

Back in November, according to WSJM, the Michigan Petroleum Association adopted a policy requiring its member stations and convenience stores to adhere to use-by dates.

The Association was told that there were quality concerns around the state that included putting out stock that was past its use-by or freshness dates. The policy is the first of its kind.

The Petroleum Association is also looking to make sure restrooms at these stations and stores are available to all customers.
