North Webster man arrested after leading police on chase, crashing vehicle

A North Webster man has been arrested after leading police on a chase, then crashing his vehicle, injuring a woman.
Elkhart County Police were pursuing a vehicle on Lincolnway, east of Capitol Avenue late Monday morning when 43-year-old Christopher James Solley-Mead turned on to Capitol, then lost control of the vehicle, and crashed head on into a pick-up truck driven by the 79-year-old Fort Wayne woman.
He then tried to take off on foot, but was placed into custody and taken to the Elkhart County Jail.
The woman whose truck he hit suffered neck pain. Solley-Mead was booked for Resisting Law Enforcement, Driving While Suspended, and Reckless Driving.
Charges are also being sought for Leaving the Scene of a Crash, and Battery on Law Enforcement.
